Terms of Service
Last updated: June 21, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Bytefork (the "Service"), operated by Andony Velázquez ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.
1. The Service
Bytefork provides browser-based developer tools. Most tools are free and run entirely in your browser. A small set of tools require paid server work and are metered in credits (the "Pro tools"). Every visitor also receives a daily allowance of free credits. There are no user accounts.
2. Credits
- What they are. Credits are prepaid units used to run metered tools. 1 credit ≈ 1 minute of audio transcription; other tools state their cost.
- Free daily credits reset each day and have no cash value.
- Paid credits are purchased in packs and are delivered as a secret "credit key" (like an API key). The key is your balance — there is no account.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your credit key. Anyone holding it can spend the credits. If you lose it and have no recovery email on file, the credits cannot be recovered. We are not liable for credits lost through a lost or shared key.
- Credits are non-transferable except by sharing the key, have no monetary value, are not a deposit, and are not redeemable for cash. Purchased credits do not expire while the Service operates.
- We may adjust credit costs and prices going forward; changes don't retroactively reduce credits you already hold.
3. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your card details. Prices are shown at checkout (USD unless stated). You are responsible for any taxes that apply in your jurisdiction. Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload or process content you don't have the right to, or that is illegal, infringing, or violates others' privacy;
- Abuse, overload, or attempt to bypass the credit system, rate limits, or anti-abuse measures;
- Resell or commercially redistribute the Service itself, or use it to build a competing transcription/credit reseller;
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes or in violation of any applicable law.
We may suspend or block access (and, for clear abuse, revoke credits) to protect the Service.
5. Your content
You keep all rights to the files and text you submit. For client-side tools, your input never leaves your device. For Pro/server tools, your input is processed only to produce your result and is not retained beyond what the task needs — see the Privacy page for specifics. You are solely responsible for the content you process.
6. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Automated transcription and AI outputs are not guaranteed to be accurate or complete — review results before relying on them. We don't warrant the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and metered tools may be temporarily paused (e.g. when a daily free-tier limit is reached).
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits, or credits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for credits in the 3 months before the claim.
8. Changes & termination
We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. If we permanently discontinue paid tools, we will provide a reasonable way to use or be refunded for unused purchased credits.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Mexico, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
